Day 2 Paris to Dinan - Wonderful places

WE'RE HERE ! Arrived in Paris about 6:30 am.  Got our car at Sixt.  BMW 4 series.  We are used to the controls, know it drives well, gets good mileage.  Comfortable, Automatic.

10:00 am We fought our way out of Paris…about an hour to clear the traffic and headed west.  Mostly freeway, six lanes. Roads and signage are great but thank God for GPS.  Got to say the French drivers are better than ours.  They actually stay to the right and signal when changing lanes.  And the truck drivers stay right and are very  polite.  Nope not lying.  However the motorcycles zoom past between lanes and it scared the hell out of me.  You can see them on the left in the video.

1:00 pm As we got to the countryside we were delighted with the scenery. D said “ if she had a nickel for every time I’ve said ‘wonderful’  we could pay for this trip!”

2:30 We finally made it to Vitre our first stop.  Wonderful Middle Ages streets with half timbered houses and a beautiful fairy tale castle.

3:47 Next we went to Campeaux.  And again walked wonderful ancient streets, went to a museum on how cathedrals were built.

4:30 We were running out of time but got to Hede Bazouges (I think I dated a Hede Bazouges once...friendly girl).

 5:00 Then to Becherel,

6:00 Finally Evian.  Lovely Little Village on a canal.

7:00 Finally to Dinan where we were staying the first three nights.
We are staying in a boutique hotel here. This amazing walled town Is built on top of a bluff above a river.

Crossing the river below the walls of Dinan

7:15  We are on the town square. Our room is small as rooms in France tend to be but quite comfortable. That’s our wheels out front.  We have some hope of surviving the drive in that great little car.  But we may get charged for clench marks in the seats.  Some of these roads are so narrow.

8:00 We had an amazing dinner at a restaurant near the hotel:

We had hoped to blog every day with lots of pics but the process is dog slow and maddening.  I keep falling asleep before the pictures download.    Standby y’all.  I think much of this will have to wait until we get home.  Just isn't feasible with the internet situation.  Note added after getting home:  Yes, we just weren't able to work over the various poor internet and wifi situations so I am filling it in at home as I am able...
